Frequently Asked Questions

Is BusinessWays an IT consulting company?
The BusinessWays team has extensive experience in IT and in business operations. But our team is focused on the area of Business/IT alignment. We are totally unbiased and completely neutral, with no agenda, and don’t interfere with the organization’s IT, operations, finance, sales, or any other area in the company.

Our only goal is to help your organization become more effective and efficient through the art and science of Business/IT alignment. Our goal is to bring the right partner to help solve your business challenges.

Does businesswWays provide plans only, or actually help execute and deliver?
As Tom Peters, renowned author, states: Execution is the missing 98% for success in business. We certainly think Tom Peters is right. BusinessWays also believes that success is measured by results, not just effort.

Our engagements begin with careful study and consideration for the current state, work with your organization to articulate a future state, conduct a gap analysis, and then plan and execute to deliver tangible business results.

Who is BusinessWays and why should we engage them?
BusinessWays is a provider of Disaster Recovery support services, 24x7x365 managed IT services, high-availability applications, and telecom solutions. We provide our customers with the highest-quality and most cost-effective solutions available within the industry. Our underlying goal is to help our customers focus on their respective business needs and to allow BusinessWays to deliver cost-effective and highest-quality solutions that support their requirements.

What is BusinessWays history?
BusinessWays is a subsidiary of ConduIT Corporation; a 13 year old organization that was formed as a technology-incubator organization for Vanderbilt University. Its mission is to help technology-focused organizations develop and thrive in today’s competitive marketplace. BusinessWays, in conjunction with ConduIT, has used their extensive experience and knowledge to develop strategic partnering relationships – on behalf of our customers – with world-class partners in the areas of managed services, cloud computing, disaster recovery and telecom services.

So, how can BusinessWays help my company?
BusinessWays’ focus is to free our customers from the tedious and time-consuming problems that can plague small to large-sized companies in the areas of IT and telecom solutions. We want our customers to focus on their core business growth and to be free of the complexity and high cost of supporting unneeded services.

As our motto indicates, “… you don’t need one more partner, but rather one partner that does more.”

How is your service actually performed?
a. If you happen to have specifications of your needs, we will start there, ask questions, etc.
b. We accomplish this by performing an in-depth analysis of your system.
c. Next, we will set up a conference call or meeting with the appropriate individuals, engineers, architects, CSR, etc. to ensure we thoroughly understand your needs and requirements.
d. Next, we put our teams to work on a solution specifically for your company. Designed around your needs, specifications and budget. And, again, this is simply an investment of time to this point.

How are costs determined for services?
Indeed, your costs are very much in mind when we are developing availability solutions for you. Starting with an objective analysis of the business impact of different levels of availability, our experts assemble a cost-effective blend of “tiered” solutions, with each tier matching your specific business needs. Let’s use Disaster Recovery as an example:

When we talk in terms of tiered solutions, what I am referring to is this. If your company is mission critical and you need 24×7 support, we can provide it.

However, if you only need to be backed up once a week, we can also provide this service. Maybe today your need is only once a week but as your business grows we can grow with you and provide you with the level of service you require.

Is there a cost for our listeners to explore these savings?
Absolutely not! There is no cost or obligation whatsoever. Your only investment is a few minutes of time. Our services are paid for by our strategic partners.

Many consulting services will perform an in-depth system overview, charging anywhere from $700 to as much as $15k or more. We are not looking for short-term consultative engagements; that is not our objective at all. Our consulting and ROI services are free-to-you as our goal is to provide the best long-term serviceability to you and your customers.

You mentioned critical applications, what about the Health Care Industry? Can you help them? Much more content is becoming digitized. CIO’s are anxious to comply with mandates such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (or, HIPAA) that govern data retention and business continuity. When more and more business leaders are looking to their data for a competitive edge, the risk of any IT downtime becomes all too clear. Yes, we are in compliance with all the regulations revolving around the Health Care industry, Including HIPAA.
